Tonight our ward had a dinner. Not the usually. This time all the men had to do the cooking and bring a dish without any help from te women. Now they had an appetizer table (1 vegetable tray, 1 bag of chips and salsa) a salad table (1 salad) and entree table (20 different kids of meats) and a dessert table Lots of dutch over desserts and a black berry cobler and some creme bulee (sp) Anyway they had four judges that tasted all the food and then awarded prizes. Well the bishop got the gold medal for appetizers of course the ward bought them. Rich Fritzley got the gold for salad he brought sliced tomatoes with a slab of goat cheese and vinger and oil to put on top. Dad got the award for the best entree. He did dutch oven ribs. They were a hit although Ron Stratton brought ribs too that were pretty good. Although his wife wasn't too happy with what he did to the oven and the cookie sheets. Then Paul Elledge got the gold for the dessert, Dutch oven cinnamon rolls and a chocolate, coconut cake both were delicious. Brother Birkenbine got one for his blackberry cobler. We can't get the picture of Rich Fritzley off daddy phone but he won the top chef of the night for bring creme bulee (sp) you should see his picture. Hre is dad with his awards.
